About this Hike
The Cape Weekender is the more relaxed of our Weekend Series hikes — a two-day, one-night journey that captures the highlights of Cape Otway without the longer distances of a full walk. It's designed as a short escape that blends forest, hidden bays, and the historic Cape Otway Lightstation into a complete coastal experience.
Day one begins with a transfer to Blanket Bay, a sheltered cove framed by forest and rocky headlands. From there the trail crosses Parker River and the secluded sands of Crayfish Bay before finishing at Cape Otway Lightstation, with time to explore this iconic site. On day two the walk continues west through coastal heathlands, along the windswept stretch of Station Beach, and across the Aire River estuary — one of the Great Ocean Walk's most distinctive landscapes.
Accommodation is at our home base, Captain's at the Bay, where you'll return in the evening for comfort and ease. With meals, transfers, and local support included, the Cape Weekender is a seamless way to enjoy a premium introduction to the Great Ocean Walk.
Tier Two guests also enjoy an upgraded room, a restaurant dinner in Apollo Bay, curated trail snacks, a complimentary recovery session at The Corner Sauna, and other thoughtful touches that reflect our quietly elevated approach to hospitality.
The Cape Weekender is a complete two-day adventure, perfectly paced for those seeking a short, rewarding taste of the Great Ocean Walk.
